# DeactivatePaymentMethodCommandRequestInput

> Takes a payment method out of use for new documents. Documents, payments and customers that carry it keep it, so there is no delete. Deactivating an inactive one does nothing and answers 204. - Request

**`paymentMethodId`**: `ID!` (required)

The ID of the payment method.

**`idempotencyKey`**: `String`

Client-supplied idempotency key. When provided, a repeated request with the same key and payload replays the original result instead of re-executing the mutation.
