# MakeLanguageDefaultCommandRequestInput

> Makes an active language the default language; the former default language stays active. Making the default language the default again changes nothing and succeeds. The default language is the language item texts are first kept and shown in, so the change affects every item whose texts are missing in the new default language. - Request

## Fields

**`languageTag`**: `String!` (required)

The language as BCP 47 language tag, for example de or de-AT: language subtag in lower case, region subtag in upper case. Case does not matter on input. Wawi currently holds only the two-letter language subtag.

**`idempotencyKey`**: `String`

Client-supplied idempotency key. When provided, a repeated request with the same key and payload replays the original result instead of re-executing the mutation.
