# AssignCharacteristicValueToItemCommandRequestInput

> Assigns a characteristic value to an item. Idempotent. The value has to exist and belong to the characteristic in the route (error code CHARACTERISTIC_VALUE_NOT_FOUND otherwise). - Request

## Fields

**`itemId`**: `ID!` (required)

The ID of the item.

**`characteristicId`**: `ID!` (required)

The ID of the characteristic the value belongs to.

**`characteristicValueId`**: `ID!` (required)

The ID of the characteristic value.

**`disableAutomaticWorkflows`**: `Boolean`

Suppresses the automatic workflow triggers of this call. Defaults to false when omitted.
