# Country

> A country as Wawi knows it: the countries addresses refer to. The ISO code is the identity; it cannot be changed, and countries are neither created nor deleted through this API.

**Kind**: `object`

## Fields

**`code`**: `String!`

The ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code of the country, two uppercase letters. This is the code every other resource uses for a country.

---

**`codeSource`**: `CountryCodeSource!`

Where the code comes from: Iso for a code of ISO 3166-1, UserAssigned for an entry created in Wawi with a code of its own. Nearly every country is delivered with Wawi and has an ISO code.

---

**`iso3Code`**: `String`

The ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 code of the country, empty if none is stored.

---

**`isoNumericCode`**: `Int!`

The numeric code of the country, ISO 3166-1 numeric for the countries delivered with Wawi.

---

**`names`**: `[CountryName!]!`

The name of the country in the languages Wawi keeps it in: German, English and French. A language without a name is left out.

---

**`continent`**: `Continent`

The continent of the country, empty if none is assigned.

---

**`currencyCode`**: `String`

The ISO 4217 code of the currency used in the country, empty if none is stored.

---

**`defaultLanguageTag`**: `String`

The default language of the country as BCP 47 language tag with region, for example de-DE.

---

**`isEuMember`**: `Boolean!`

Whether the country is a member of the European Union. Wawi uses it to decide between domestic, intra-community and export tax treatment and whether customs documents are needed.
