# DuplicateItemCommandRequestInput

> Creates a new item as a copy of an existing one. The copy has the same kind. The new item number is required; which parts and sub-resources are taken over is chosen per part, parts that are omitted are taken over. The categories are always taken over unless others are named, because the copy is never a combination of a variation parent, not even when the original is one, and so always needs a category. - Request

## Fields

**`itemId`**: `ID!` (required)

The ID of the item.

**`sku`**: `String!` (required)

The item number of the copy, unique among all items.

**`name`**: `String`

The name of the copy. Omitted means the name of the original.

---

**`copyDescriptions`**: `Boolean`

Whether the texts are taken over.

---

**`copyPrices`**: `Boolean`

Whether the prices are taken over.

---

**`copyImages`**: `Boolean`

Whether the image assignments are taken over.

---

**`categoryIds`**: `[ID]`

The categories of the copy. Omitted means the categories of the original are taken over. If given, at least one: the copy is never a combination of a variation parent, so it always needs a category of its own.

**`copyCharacteristics`**: `Boolean`

Whether the characteristics are taken over.

**`copyAttributes`**: `Boolean`

Whether the attributes are taken over.

**`copySuppliers`**: `Boolean`

Whether the supplier items are taken over. Only stock items have them.

**`copyStockSettings`**: `Boolean`

Whether the stock settings are taken over. The stock itself is never copied.

**`disableAutomaticWorkflows`**: `Boolean`

Suppresses the automatic workflow triggers of this call. Defaults to false when omitted.

**`idempotencyKey`**: `String`

Client-supplied idempotency key. When provided, a repeated request with the same key and payload replays the original result instead of re-executing the mutation.
