# Language

> A language Wawi knows. Every language Wawi can work with is listed; the active ones are the languages texts can be kept in. At most one active language is the default language. The same model serves the list and the single read, because it is small.

**Kind**: `object`

## Fields

**`tag`**: `String!`

The language as BCP 47 language tag, for example de or de-AT: language subtag in lower case, region subtag in upper case. Case does not matter on input. Wawi currently holds only the two-letter language subtag.

---

**`codeSource`**: `LanguageCodeSource!`

Where the code comes from: Iso for a code of the language list Wawi delivers, UserAssigned for an entry of its own. Every language Wawi lists today has an ISO code.

---

**`iso3Code`**: `String`

The code of the language with usually three letters as Wawi stores it (ISO 639-2 bibliographic, for example 'ger' and 'fre', not 'deu' and 'fra').

---

**`names`**: `[LanguageName!]!`

The name of the language in German and English.

---

**`isActive`**: `Boolean!`

Whether the language is active, that is whether texts can be kept in it.

---

**`isDefault`**: `Boolean!`

Whether this is the default language. At most one active language is.
