# LotTrackingType

> What the stock postings of an item carry to trace its lots. An item that uses neither has no lot tracking at all instead of a 'none' value. This is a closed set: a new value is a new variant and a breaking change.

## Values

**`BATCH`** — Every stock posting carries a batch number (German 'Charge').

**`SHELF_LIFE_EXPIRATION_DATE`** — Every stock posting carries a shelf life expiration date (SLED, German 'MHD').

**`BATCH_AND_SHELF_LIFE_EXPIRATION_DATE`** — Every stock posting carries both a batch number and a shelf life expiration date.
