# MeasurementUnit

> A measurement unit: a unit that measures a quantity, for example kilogram, litre or metre, with its conversion to a base unit.

**Kind**: `object`

## Fields

**`id`**: `ID!`

The ID of the measurement unit.

---

**`displayCode`**: `String!`

The short form shown next to quantities, for example 'kg'.

---

**`name`**: `String!`

The name in the default language.

---

**`predefinedCode`**: `String`

The code of a predefined measurement unit: the units Wawi ships with (UCUM codes such as 'kg' or '[lb_av]') and those created by the synchronisation with a shop. Empty for units created by users.

---

**`isSystem`**: `Boolean!`

Whether this is a system measurement unit, one with a predefined code. System measurement units cannot be deleted, and their display code and their name in the default language cannot be changed.

---

**`unitCode`**: `String`

The UN/CEFACT unit code shown on e-invoices for items with this measurement unit, for example 'KGM'. Values stored before can be of any format; a value written through the API has 2 or 3 letters or digits (see 'QueryUnitCodes'). Empty when none is set.

---

**`baseUnitId`**: `ID!`

The ID of the base unit of the family this unit belongs to; the unit itself for a base unit. Two measurement units convert into each other when their base unit is the same.

---

**`conversion`**: `MeasurementUnitConversion`

How this unit converts to its base unit. Empty for a base unit. To convert a quantity from unit a to unit b of the same family, multiply it by factor(a) / factor(b), where a base unit counts as 1.

---

**`translations`**: `[MeasurementUnitTranslation!]!`

The names, one per language. Always contains the default language.
