# SalesOrderDiscountLineItemInput

> A new discount such as a coupon.

## Fields

**`sortOrder`**: `Int`

The position of the line item. Defaults to the end.

**`note`**: `String`

A note on the line item.

**`name`**: `String!` (required)

The name printed on the document.

---

**`discountType`**: `String!` (required)

The type of the discount. Known values: COUPON, NEW_CUSTOMER_COUPON, LEGACY_VOUCHER. The type of a discount line item.

**`amount`**: `Decimal!` (required)

The amount of the discount; greater than 0. Fails with a GraphQL error whose extensions.code is LineItemAmountNotPositive.
