# UpdateMultilingualAttributeCommandRequestInput

> Changes a multilingual attribute. Only the properties that are sent change. The names per language are written with 'SetAttributeName' and 'RemoveAttributeName'. The data type cannot be changed. System attributes accept only 'activeSalesChannels', as in the Wawi dialog. Errors: errorCode is ATTRIBUTE_NOT_FOUND (no attribute has this ID); ATTRIBUTE_KIND_MISMATCH (the attribute is a function attribute; use 'UpdateFunctionAttribute'); ATTRIBUTE_IS_SYSTEM_ATTRIBUTE (the attribute is supplied by the system and another property than 'activeSalesChannels' is sent); ATTRIBUTE_GROUP_NAME_INVALID, ATTRIBUTE_LANGUAGE_NOT_FOUND, ATTRIBUTE_ALLOWED_VALUES_REQUIRED, ATTRIBUTE_ALLOWED_VALUES_NOT_SUPPORTED, ATTRIBUTE_ALLOWED_VALUES_INVALID, ATTRIBUTE_SALES_CHANNEL_NOT_SUPPORTED as for 'CreateMultilingualAttribute' (and ATTRIBUTE_ALLOWED_VALUE_RENAME_INVALID when a 'renamedFrom' does not match an entry of the current list); ATTRIBUTE_NAME_ALREADY_EXISTS. - Request

## Fields

**`attributeId`**: `ID!` (required)

The ID of the attribute to change.

**`groupName`**: `String`

The name of the group the attribute is displayed under. A moved attribute is placed at the end of the new group unless 'sortOrder' is given in the same request. A name that matches an existing group of the same entity type apart from letter case uses the existing spelling.

**`allowedValues`**: `[MultilingualAllowedValueInput]`

Replaces the list of allowed values. Only for data type 'VALUE_LIST'. A removed entry that is not named in a 'renamedFrom' clears the value on items and categories that carry it.

**`description`**: `String`

An internal description of the attribute for staff. Null removes the description.

**`sortOrder`**: `Int`

The new position within the group, starting at 1; a larger value places the attribute at the end. Other attributes of the group move accordingly.

**`activeSalesChannels`**: `[AttributeSalesChannelInput]`

Replaces the online shops the attribute is transferred to. An empty list means that no shop receives it.

**`idempotencyKey`**: `String`

Client-supplied idempotency key. When provided, a repeated request with the same key and payload replays the original result instead of re-executing the mutation.
