# UpdateTaxClassCommandRequestInput

> Changes the name or the rate type of a tax class. Fields that are omitted stay as they are. - Request

## Fields

**`taxClassId`**: `ID!` (required)

The ID of the tax class.

**`name`**: `String`

The new name, 1 to 255 characters, unique.

**`rateType`**: `TaxRateType`

The new rate type, unique among tax classes; null removes it.

---

**`idempotencyKey`**: `String`

Client-supplied idempotency key. When provided, a repeated request with the same key and payload replays the original result instead of re-executing the mutation.
